Dr. Jim is a two-time Emmy Award winning meteorologist with a 26-year television career and the last 15 years in Houston, Texas. He is an energetic speaker with a passion to help people take control by becoming prepared for natural disasters as well as life disasters. He holds degrees in meteorology-earth science, journalism, and science education, and he draws from his varied background to entertain audiences while teaching them life-changing concepts. He is a broadcaster, college professor, and founder. He holds 2 U.S. Patents dealing with lightning and has published in national journals including topics about natural hazard mitigation, weather impacts on electricity prices and pipeline protection from lighting.
